Why commercial buildings need it
Office buildings and other nonindustrial buildings can develop moisture and dampness problems from roof and window leaks, high indoor humidity, and flooding events. This can lead to the growth of mold, fungi, and bacteria, the release of volatile organic compounds, and the breakdown of building materials.
Building dampness problems frequently start with suboptimal design, construction, and commissioning, and once a building is occupied they can also develop from improper or insufficient maintenance, or from weather events. Observations of dampness, water damage, mold, or mold odors are the best indicators of a dampness-related hazard, rather than relying on microbiologic measurements alone.
How Bactronix treats it
We find the water first, because mold is a water problem before it is a mold problem. The EPA says it plainly: the key to mold control is moisture control (source). Then the surfaces get cleaned, and then they get treated with BactroKill Plus, an EPA-registered antimicrobial, EPA Reg. No. 82972-1-90746, applied by the Bactronizing electrostatic process. The sprayer puts a charge on the droplets so they wrap around a surface instead of landing only on the side facing the nozzle.
Growth you can see on a ceiling or a wall is looked at before it is priced, because every one of them is different. Mold testing is available where nobody can find the source, and it is quoted rather than posted.
Guarantee terms for a commercial job come with the quote, in writing, alongside the price. On a house the treatment carries a 12-month limited guarantee: if what we treated comes back inside a year and no water or moisture was reintroduced to the area, we come back and re-treat it.
